Hopping the Pond – Barbara’s London Blog

For three months, I had the honor of interning as the Production Assistant for The England Football Association’s broadcast department, FATV. There, I improved my video editing skills, immersed myself in the world of European football — and understood the importance of a friendly work environment.

Check out my blog from the 2011 summer that advanced me as a journalist and opened my eyes to international sports coverage: http://barbara-hoppingthepond.blogspot.com/

FATV’s ‘Get Involved’ Campaign – 1 Year Anniversary

In August 2010, the FATV “Get Involved” Campaign kicked off, promoting the importance for England FA employees and football professionals to ‘get involved’ in the community. The campaign believes this relationship will help develop the future of football and create more transparency in the organization.

*I produced file video from past “Get Involved” events for the piece that was featured during the 1 Year Anniversary celebration event in August 2011.

FATV: Bob Mortimer ‘Football Fan’ Feature

FATV interviews British comedian, actor and avid football fan Bob Mortimer on his football favorites and the FA Cup. “Football Fan” is a regular feature on FATV’s YouTube channel that uses the common passion of football to help connect public figures with fanatics around the UK.

*I manned the tight camera angle during this interview and produced the piece for web.

FATV: Theo Walcott – FATV Fantasy Five A Side

England and Arsenal forward Theo Walcott talks us through his Fantasy 5-a-side team.

Having burst into Premier League football in 2007 Walcott made his first competitive start for the England Senior team in a World Cup qualifier against Andorra, and in the following match against Croatia on 10 September he opened his senior international goals tally and became the youngest player in history to score a hat-trick for England.

*This was the first video I produced for web during my summer internship as Production Assistant to FATV.
